Flexible Leather Binding with Coleen Curry
Saturday 6th September – Sunday 7th September (2 days)
Course cost: $440
Venue: NSW Guild of Craft Bookbinders bindery in Rozelle
In this two-day class students will make a multi-section flexible leather binding, with leather doublures and a wrap-around suede flyleaf. The structure is simple but executed with care and attention to detail. The book block is rounded, but not backed, and the attachment of the suede flyleaves forms a hollow allowing the book to open beautifully and flat. The construction offers endless simple possibilities to create an elegant binding by cutting design into leather prior to covering.
