This leather is ideal for new bindings or restoration work as Aniline Straight Grain Goats skins are synonymous with 18th and 19th Century French bindings. The skins are vegitable tanned and dyed and left with a semi-transparent finish. They are then embossed with a straight grain, giving a natural looking and luxurious leather.  It will take both gold leaf and foil and can also be blind-tooled. The grain runs parallel to the spine
