Description

This new book, Leather and Dyeing by Oliver and Vidler, details the step-by-step procedures for creating four different decorative designs to apply to bookbinding leather. The book also includes background information on leather and dyeing that is useful to know when selecting leathers and dyes for your dyeing projects. The authors chose techniques that can be used by fine bookbinders, trade bookbinders, design binders, conservators and leather workers.

This book is published by The Bench Publications (TBP). The intention of this new publisher is to offer a series of basic guides to some fundamental techniques and knowledge in bookbinding and book conservation. The guides are intended to assist with independent practice or as a teaching resource within bookbinding or book conservation programs. TBP is the brain child of bookbinder Nicky Oliver and book conservator Karen Vidler.
